About Jeff Alford

2006 was the year that saw DJ-Producer Jeff Alford break out into the
international dance music scene with his album Heart of Trance and his
award wining-video to the album's first single 'Visions in Space'.
However, his story started much earlier.
1998 was the year when
Alford was part of a Hip-Hop band called Little Buddha in Lebanon. The
experience gave Alford the confidence he needed to go solo. In 2002,
after intensively studying the recording arts in America, Alford
released his debut album "Down To Earth". The 30 track Hard Trance/Hard
House double album was released through his own Jamixart Productions
label.
His trance track "Reaching the Top" was selected for
inclusion on the 'Hot Clubbing Vol.5' dance compilation CD in 2003 with
1.3 million copies released. 'Hot Clubbing' was released in conjunction
with The Daily Star & The Express newspapers in the UK. The mix was
also selected as background music for the television advertising
campaign, which included broadcasters such as MTV, Paramount, C4, C5
and Sky One.
Alford licensed the album 'Down to Earth' to Nonego
Records in 2004. The track "Feeling The Energy" from the album appeared
on the "Psychic Vol.1" compilation release and Red Earth Studios Ltd
(Powerboat P1 World Championship Mid-Season-Review). 5 mixes from the
album were selected for the background music broadcast on Sky Sports,
and The Sailing Channel).
Alford's follow up album "Space
Invader" was released in 2005. The album featured 12 tracks of Hard
Trance/Goa Trance. This was followed by the album 'Heart of Trance' in
2006. The Hard House and PsyTrance album was licensed to Aardvark
Records.
Alford produced and directed his debut promotional
music video for the single "Visions in Space" - which went on to
receive the International Music Video Award at the Cravefest Music
Award held in Toronto, Canada in the "Most Original Video" in the
Signed Electronic category. Exposure through Foot Locker's 2,500 North
American retail outlets brought Alford's video to 38 million. The video
has also aired on Canada's main dance music video broadcast channel
BPM:TV, which boasts 20 million viewers, and numerous other music video
channel s around the globe.
2008 sees the release of a fifth
album bringing new sound : "Dreams - Heart Of Trance Part II". The
album is released under Jamixart Productions and licensed to Aardvark
Records. This album sees Alford once again returning to the PsyTrance
helm.
2008 is also the year of the G.T.S. (Global Trance
Session) tour with Alford mixing LIVE, non-stop remixes: hands-on his
gear, no cds, no vinyls used... Which makes his concerts unique as
there is never the same progression in sound. |
